Dogs

It was my eighth birthday and it had been a pretty normal one so far. We go to Grandma's and have a party and cake. I am getting all my presents and for the most part they are normal eight year old presents. Well my aunt says wait there is one more. She then brings down a chocolate lab puppy. This was a complete surprise to my parents, especially my mom. She is scared of dogs. She jumps on to the counter and screams but it was too late, I already latched onto the dog. I loved that dog named Missy. By the time she was one she was bigger than I was. She would drag me through the snow and we played all the time. She was also a very smart dog and managed to get out of her cage many times. One of these times she never returned. This was the first time I lost something really close to my heart. She was two and I was ten when she ran away. I cried myself to sleep for the next couple of months. We later got another dog which was a black lab which we named Princess. She was a calm and peaceful dog. She almost never barked. We soon grew to love her. She would play with us and just like Missy lay down and let us rest our heads on her stomach. I was at school when I was checked out for no apparent reason. My dad took me back to our house where our dog Princess was laying down dying. She had a stroke and we had to put her to sleep. Again I lost something close to my heart and cried myself to sleep for the next couple of months.

Homecoming Nightmare

It was about 5:30 PM and I went to pick up Jake and then go over and get our dates. I went and got Jake but his mom wanted a picture of me and him and his dad asked me if I was here to pick up a very special young man. Then we leave his house and start to go to Camie and Janae’s house when Jake remembers the corsage he left at home. So we go back to pick up his Chinese looking corsage. We finally get to our dates house and it’s just like any other, their mom wants pictures so we take a couple of pictures. Then we go to the ampletheatre at the Mount Timpanogos Temple. We are there for about an hour getting couple and group pictures. The photographer asks us if we are boyfriend and girlfriend or just friends. We both reply just friends. We get the pictures and it’s off to Macaroni Grill, which by the way has no macaroni. We are driving there and my date, Camie, says she knows how to get there and tells me to turn after the University Mall. This turns out to be the long way to the restaurant. After about thirty minutes of driving we can see our destination. There is however one stop light right before we get there. I stop at the stop light and I was pretty close to the car in front of us, so everyone kind of thinks maybe we will crash but I don’t hit them. Right as I get to a full stop however, we get hit from behind! We had to pull into the middle lane and inspect the damage done to our car. My car has almost no damage to hit but the mini-van was totaled. They broke their radiator and both of their headlights. There was smoke everywhere and tons of glass in the road. I then decide to talk to the man that hit me and he apologizes and all that good stuff. I call the police and they ask where we are. I wasn’t paying attention so I ask the old man that hit me, this turned out to be a very bad choice. He said we were on canyon road so I tell them that. They say that the police should be there in fifteen minutes. So we are all waiting in my car when randomly Jake and Janae find two racquetballs in my car. So out of complete boredom we start throwing those around. After about an hour of talking and playing with the racquetballs I decide to call the police again. This time I find out the actual address of where we were at and tell them we were on University Avenue and not canyon road. They tell me that the police should be there soon. We then start talking again and Camie and Janae find out some things about me and Jake that no one should really ever know, nothing bad of course we were just starting to go a little crazy. We then watch two police cars drive past us and not even turn around! Now we had been waiting for about an hour and a half and I decide to call a third time. I talk to the same lady I did before and she said are you on Canyon Road? I then said no and that we were on University Avenue, and that I told them that before. So they tell the police where we were. Well I called Matt who is in our group and I told him what happened. He asked us what we want for dinner and he ordered it for us. Well the police finally get to us and they ask for insurance and ID from everyone in the car and he tries to be funny and I just felt like punching him in the face. It takes him about an hour to get all the traffic report done and printed out and then I leave because my car is still drivable. We get to the restaurant, which we could see from the crash site, and we call Matt again and he tells us our food is in the back of his car back at the high school! I have to then drive all the way back to the high school and get our food. We get our food and bring it to my house when we realize the dance ends in about thirty minutes. So we drive back over there and get like one slow dance and four fast dances in and it’s over. We come back to my house and when we walk in my mom had set out nice china and candles. She also made us brownies. So we finished our meals and talked and had a pretty good time. I finally take them back home and give my date a hug and go back home. Did I tell you that not only were mine and Jake’s dates were twins? Or that this was their first date? Yes, their first date and their first car accident on the same night. How awful is that?

Karen

There is this amazing girl I know and she always manages to make me smile. She is one of the few people I know I can tell anything to. Her smile is one that could drive a man crazy. She has the most beautiful eyes, I could and do get lost in them. Her smile is contagious. She has got to be one of the prettiest girls I have ever met! She also has the best personality! She has taught me to be more patient and kind. She is always giving love and help. I can’t think of a time that I have seen her be mean to anyone. She is really funny and even though a little shy, once you get to know her she is someone that you don’t want to ever forget. Her love and kindness seems to rub off onto those that she is around. Everyone that knows her is blessed to know her. She is a shining star in these dark times. She helps me get through the hard times in life and I know she will always be there for me. She is an angel sent from heaven to help me along my path. I don’t ever want to forget this special angel named Karen Lloyd.

Ricky Bobby

It had been just like almost any other day. I go to school and I take Nate home just like I normally do. When I get home I start to pull into the driveway and I almost get all the way in when I see something and I just about ran it over. I hurry and get out of the car and see what I almost hit. There standing on the ground is a parakeet and it is about a foot away from my tire and it didn't move. So I started chasing it around trying to catch it. It finally flew over to Mariah's house where she and Andrew were talking. Andrew helped me catch this bird and I took it inside and put it in a pitcher. I immediately found it some food and started looking for the owner. After a couple of hours of looking for the owner I finally found someone that will take it. Well then the bird started "sleeping". I decided to make sure it wasn’t dead so I woke it up. It started walking around again then went back to sleep. I then go down stairs and I got answered for Homecoming and then Karen was going to come over and see the bird. I took the answer for Homecoming up into my room where Ricky Bobby, the bird, was. I saw that the bird wasn’t moving again so I tried waking it up again. This time the bird didn’t move. I took him down to my dad who had a parakeet when he was a kid. He picked him up then dropped him and said, "Yep, he's dead." This was the end to Ricky, so I took him outside and buried him.

Soccer

I was going to end up talking about this sooner or later, so I might as well talk about the best sport ever right now. I play soccer almost every day. Right now I am playing on an AAA team called arsenal. We are pretty good I guess. We played in the USA Addida's cup and went undefeated to win it all! I start at left outside fullback and I had never been subbed out until last Saturday. I was so mad when I was pulled out. Derek tried to clear the ball but it nailed me in the face and scored a goal for the other team. The end score was 5-4, our first loss. The reason I was subbed out though was because I got a bloody nose by getting nailed. I went right back in and I had the sickest nutmeg after that. We still lost though and it was our first loss as a team.

School

School is one of the most boring things. I like some of my classes but AP BC Calculus is kicking me in the butt! It is one of the hardest classes I have taken! Then to make school worse Megan Abel is in too many of my classes. She also sits by me in all of them. She is easily the creepiest girl I have met! She lays her head on her desk and looks at me with her googly eyes and when I look over she says, "Bracky I love you." It is extremely awkward and annoying. I believe she wrote in her blog how much she enjoys doing it too! Other than that and BC Calculus, school isn't that bad. I still wish it was summer though.
